Advantage Capital is a special situation, UK mid market private equity firm. It was founded in 2001 by two UK private equity veterans, Martin Bodenham and Trevor Jones, who have between them approaching 50 years private equity experience.

Advantage Capital aims to achieve above average returns for its investors by deploying a distinctive investment strategy, “difficult deals of real merit^®”. The purpose of this strategy is to enable Advantage Capital to buy well – if Advantage Capital cannot acquire a high quality business well, it will not buy at all. This makes Advantage Capital a low volume, highly selective private equity investor.

Since its foundation, Advantage Capital has raised three funds, made seven investments and has achieved four profitable realisations. The first fund, Advantage Capital Partners 1, is now fully invested. The investors in this fund had their investment returned in cash within five years of final close and all subsequent distributions they receive represent cash profit.

Advantage Capital has an investor base of 30+, 95% of whom are high net worth or ultra high net worth individuals, who generally find Advantage Capital’s funds an attractive means of putting to work a small part of their wealth.
